Really interesting read! It’s interesting to consider the parallels that can be drawn between Australia and India in terms of diversity. I think that the history of both countries are incredibly interesting; in history class at the moment we are learning about how the Protection and Assimilation policies affected Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. However I think that the Australian government should and could do more to recognise Aboriginal people as the oldest living culture in the world (as you highlight) and thus ‘close the gap’.
